FORT SMITH, Ark. — Poteau’s Hannah Ward and her Lady Pirates, both the Class 4A defending state champions, captured titles at Tuesday’s Roland Invitational, which took place at Ben Geren Golf Course.
Ward was the top medalist for the second straight day this week as she shot a 71.
As a team, the Lady Pirates won the team title with a 358.
Skylynn Terry, Cathleen Manlove and Dallas Terry joined Ward as a medalist. Skylynn Terry was fourth with an 88, Manlove carded a 95 to win eighth-place medalist honors and Dallas Terry shot a 103 to earn the 10th-place medalist spot.
Alyssa Vineyard shot a 109, Kori Lafevers had a 115 and Haley Clark carded a 123.
The Lady Pirates were slated to return to action today in their own Poteau Girls Invitational at Choctaw Country Club, but the event that was originally scheduled April 4 but postponed due to inclement weather conditions was totally postponed and will not be rescheduled.
The Pirates will also hit the links Friday as they will return to action after a weeklong layoff as they will play in the Hilldale Invitational, which will begin at 9 a.m. in Muskogee.
