MONROE — All that matters is leading at the end of the game — just ask the Arkoma Mustangs.
Tanner Sanders' basket with 4.3 seconds left in regulation lifted the Mustangs to a 46-45 win over the Hodgen Bulldogs in consolation quarterfinal action in the 2013 LeFlore County Junior High Tournament on Wednesday night at the Monroe gym.
Three other teams made it to the consolation semifinals. Arkoma's boys faced Whitesboro in one consolation semifinals on Thursday as the Bulldogs defeated the Cameron Yellowjackets 54-35.
The two girls teams that made Thursday's consolation semifinals were the Cameron Lady ’Jackets and the Panama Lady Razorbacks. Cameron edged Arkoma 30-29, while Panama got past Fanshawe 44-34.
The championship semifinals will take place Friday at Howe.
