Late-inning offense rallies Poteau past Panama girls in season opener

March 6, 2013

BANG-BANG PLAY — Poteau baserunner Shelby Standridge, right, and Panama shortstop Kendra Swindle, who has the ball, look to arrive at second base simultaneously in the fourth inning of Tuesday afternoon's season-opener for both teams. PANAMA — Things could not have started better for the Panama Lady Razorbacks and worse for the Poteau Lady Pirates in Tuesday afternoon's season-opener for the 2013 spring slow-pitch softball season. However, in the end, it was just the reverse.
Thanks to a pair of late-inning rallies by the Lady Pirates, they were able to come back to down the Lady ’Backs by the score of 5-3.
Editor's note — Tuesday afternoon's home softball game for Wister against McCurtain was canceled. No make-up date has been set.
