Lawrence Schlienz

Lawrence Schlienz, 80, died March 3, 2014. He was born to Fay Schlienz and Josephine Beatrice (Moss) Schlienz on Aug. 28, 1933, at home in Mancelona, Mich. He served a brief time in the U,S. Navy and was honorably discharged.
He married Mary Louise Zych in 1953. Together they had Debra Schlienz, Aaron Schlienz, Bob Schlienz, Tom Schlienz, Jim Schlienz, Laura Schlienz, Christine Schlienz, David Schlienz, Jerry Schlienz, Richard Schlienz, Vicky Schlienz, Mike Schlienz, Joe Schlienz and Frankie Schlienz. Later in life he met and married Edith Eileen Custard and they had Rebecca Ann Custard McIntire, Sarah Custard McKenzie and Jacob Allen Custard. 
Larry lived all over the United States. He said once, "He couldn't see the world so he saw the United States"
He visited and lived in 38 states.
He was blessed with many children and spoke of each one with love. He had a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved cooking, reading his Bible and keeping up with current events.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Schlienz;, second wife, Edith Eileen Custard; and sons, Jacob Allen Custard and Frankie Schlienz.
In lieu of flowers there is a memorial bank account at the Talihina Branch of Spiro State Bank for the families of Schlienz and Custard to help with the funeral expenses.
Memorial services will be held at noon Wednesday, March 12, at the Lenox Christ Church under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service, Talihina.
