I always look forward to his mother's potato casserole. We ate everything, watched the fireworks show and had a great time. I even stayed up until 10:30 p.m. that night! Thank you, Chad and Kendra.Liz's Mexican DinnersEarlier this week, we went up on Cavanal Hill to Don and Liz Wilson's house for her famous homemade Mexican dinners. You talk about some kind of good!I think I ate four of those beef enchiladas, and chased it with that homemade salsa and chips.Johnath and Zula Clark brought a set of dominoes, and after dinner we got into a mean game of “chicken feet.” It took me a little while to figure it out, but I got it now!Zula had me laughing all night, but she is serious about her dominoes game. Next time, we'll play it at my house.I did manage to trade some butter pecan cake that I made for a jar of Liz's homemade salsa. It's so good, Juleah Brooks!By the way, if you see Don and Liz's daughter, Tannah, ask her about getting attacked by a herd of turkey Sunday morning. They stormed her car, and attacked her tires!Food, Glorious FoodYou've noticed that this week's column as a lot of discussion about food. Eating good foods is my next-to-favorite hobby after fishing. I've got two 12-ounce rib-eye steaks that I have been aging in my refrigerator in the shop since May 25. Those two steaks are green, brown and purple with a little mold on them, but I promise they will be the best steaks ever when I grill them for “Steak Night.”Don't worry about the mold, I will clean all that off. When they're done, you can cut the steaks with a spoon!“Beat the HeatMusic Fest”The “Beat the Heat Music Fest” Battle of the Bands Competition will take place July 28 at Heavener Runestone Park.
