Leflore boys, Bokoshe girls win district championships; Tigers get first win in nearly four years; all four local teams playing in regional tournament Thursday

LEFLORE — The Leflore Savages and the Bokoshe Lady Tigers picked up postseason hardware in last weekend's Class B District Tournament on Nadine Carpenter Court.
The Savages downed the Bokoshe Tigers 70-34 to win the district title Saturday night right after the girls title game was a nailbiter with the Lady Tigers edging the host Lady Savages 44-43.
Both Bokoshe teams had to win Friday night over Midway to get to Saturday night's title games — and they did.
The Tigers snapped a nearly four-year long losing streak, beating the Chargers 53-47, while the Lady Tigers handled the Lady Chargers 52-38.
All four local teams will be in the Class B Regional Tournament Thursday at Cleveland, Okla.
