Leflore boys could have banner season this year, while girls will be a work in progress

November 5, 2011

LEFLORE — For Leflore Basketball Coach Todd Hackler, he will do something he has not done in quite a while — coach both boys and girls teams. But thanks to Assistant Coach Tony Marris, Leflore's baseball coach, Hackler believes that he can once again handle both duties.
From his Savage team's perspective, Hackler sees his team as a sleeping giant.
“I think we have a special group here,” said Hackler, whose boys' team is 1-1 so far on the young season. “We have a group that will be pretty solid.”
On the other hand, it will likely be a work in progress for Hackler with regards to the Lady Savages (0-2). He has three players back from last season's team.
