LEFLORE — The Leflore Savages baseball team made sure that neither the Buffalo Valley Buffaloes nor rain were going to keep the locals from securing another week's worth of baseball.
The Savages, who lost on Thursday to Buffalo Valley in the Class B District Tournament, staved off elimination and withstood Saturday afternoon's rain which suspended the winner-take-all district title game to run rule the Buffs 12-4 on Monday afternoon to win the district title.
The Savages (18-10) will play Red Oak at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Class B Regional Tournament at Red Oak. Caney and Boswell are the other two teams in the regional tournament field.
