CLEVELAND, Okla. — The Leflore Savages can be the county's first team to make the state tournament.
The Savages will meet the Red Oak Eagles at 8 p.m. Friday in Sand Springs for the Class B Area Tournament championship. However, the loser can still make state the next night in the consolation championship game at 8 p.m. Saturday.
The Savages got to the position of being a win away from making state by winning the Class B Regional Tournament on Saturday night, downing Cave Springs 59-47.
Unfortunately, the season came to an end for the Lady Savages, who lost 72-49 to Bluejacket in the Class B Regional Tournament consolation finals Saturday afternoon. The Lady Savages stayed alive by beating Copan 45-31 in Friday night's consolation semifinals.
