LeFlore County expecting strong storms today

ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE, SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED THIS MORNING ACROSS PARTS OFSOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA. THESE STORMS WILL CONTINUE TOMOVE EASTWARD INTO PARTS OF FAR SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND PERHAPS WESTCENTRAL ARKANSAS THROUGH NOON. A FEW OF THE STORMS MAY PRODUCE HAILTO THE SIZE OF QUARTERS...ALTHOUGH THE GREATER SEVERE STORM THREATIN EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS IS EXPECTED TO BE THISAFTERNOON AND EVENING.STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO INITIATE ALONG THEDRYLINE OVER WEST CENTRAL OKLAHOMA THIS AFTERNOON. THE STORMS WILLMOVE EAST INTO NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON OR EARLYEVENING HOURS. THE DEEP LAYER SHEAR PROFILE SUGGESTS THAT DISCRETESUPERCELL STORMS WILL BE MORE LIKELY WHEN COMPARED TO YESTERDAY. ANYSUSTAINED SUPERCELLS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY LARGEHAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...AND TORNADOES. TORNADO POTENTIAL WILL BEENHANCED IF STORMS CAN ANCHOR ALONG AN OUTFLOW BOUNDARY LEFT FROMTHE MORNING STORMS. STORMS WILL EVENTUALLY CONGEAL INTO CLUSTERS ORLINES AND MOVE EAST INTO SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSASTHIS EVENING.
