LeFlore County Museum announces opening

After more than two years, the LeFlore County Museum located at the Hotel Lowrey on Dewey Avenue in Poteau has opened its doors to the public.
After many months or preparing the exhibits in room on the second and third floors, as well as the revolving exhibit located downstairs in the recently dedicated Arlene LeMaster Gallery Room, museum officials announced their official business hours.
History lovers will be able to visit the museum Tuesday-Thursday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The museum is seeking people willing to donate time on Saturday or Sunday so the museum can extend open hours. If you would like more information about volunteering at the museum or would like to offer your time, contact Lorie Rutledge at (918) 647-9330.
Any group or organization that would like to take a private tour of the museum are asked to call ahead and schedule prior to the visit.
