LeFlore County recognized for Ten Commandments

November 19, 2012

Charlie Horsley of Poteau shows off the citation of recognition signed by Sen. Mark Allen, D-Dist. 4 and Brian Bingman, president pro-tem of the Senate recognizing LeFlore County as the only county in Oklahoma where all communities display the Ten Commandments. Horsley said he contacted Allen about the citation after checking with all the communities and finding that the Ten Commandments were displayed somewhere in each community. The citation says the Ten Commandments are displayed in “homes, businesses, church and vehicles.” Horsley said getting communities to display the Ten Commandments “is God’s plan for me.”
