HOWE — It took an extra three minutes to decide the victor between the Leflore Lady Savages and the Pocola Lady Indians in Wednesday's consolation quarterfinal contest in the 2013 LeFlore County Junior High Tournament.
After Pocola's Lupe Galvan hit a lay-up with about 30 seconds left to tie the game at 21-all to force overtime, the Lady Savages were able to outlast the Lady Indians 27-24 to reach Thursday's consolation semifinals.
The other girls consolation quarterfinal was just as close, and decided by the same score, as the Bokoshe Lady Tigers edged the Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs 27-24.
In Wednesday's boys consolation quarterfinals, Panama got past Fanshawe 31-23, while Bokoshe defeated Pocola 40-24.
