Leon Barnes

Leon Barnes, 79, of Cameron died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born, Oct. 21, 1933, in Pocola to Cooper Minor and Ruby Kathryn (Martin) Barnes. He was a rancher and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pocola.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents; wife Linda (Cunningham) Barnes; daughter Vanessa Barnes; sister Linda Kathryn; two brothers, Travis Gene and Bobby Ray.
He is survived by three sons, Terry Barnes and Michael Barnes both of Cameron, and Craig Barnes of Pocola; a brother, Coy Allen Barnes of Pocola; six grandchildren, Clay, Aron, Carrie, Cody, Jason and Jana; eight great-grandchildren; and other family, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Mike Barnes, Craig Barnes, Cody Barnes, Clay Barnes, Aron Barnes and Jason Barnes. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Barnes.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the First Baptist Church, Pocola, with Bro. Daniel Clark officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
