Lillian Virginnia Pettis, 83, of Howe died Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, in Howe. Lillian was born July 8, 1928, in Wewoka to Walter and Ila Della Hays. She married Doyle Pettis on Aug. 31, 1946, in Wellington, Kan. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughters, Leella Williams and Sonya Pettis; son, Dean Pettis; grandsons, Billy Powell, Doug Rohrbaugh; two sisters and four brothers. She was a longtime resident of Watonga. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by sons, Walter and Lee Pettis of Yukon, Darrell Pettis of Bethany; daughters, Cheryl and Bruce Hauser of Escondido, Calif., Gaylene and Wayne Cacy of Howe, Twila Pettis of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Georgia Smith of Watonga; brother, Dewayne Hays of Washington;19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 43 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A pot luck dinner and memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Christ Gospel Church, 517 E. Main, Watonga.
