NORMAN — Three LeFlore County graduating softball players got to play one last high school fast-pitch game on Saturday at the 2013 Oklahoma Fast-Pitch Softball Coaches Association All-State Game at Marita Hynes Field at the University of Oklahoma Softball Complex.
Poteau's Shelby Standridge and Brenna Vise, who played on the Middle East team, got the honor of having their coach, Misty Collins, coach them one last time as Collins and Valliant's Tommy Howard coached the Middle East, which lost 4-1 to the Middle West.
Standridge had two plate appearances, with no hits but did get a stolen base. Vise also had two plate appearances with a walk. Both Lady Pirates will play college softball at Carl Albert State College next spring.
Panama's Taylor Eaves, who was on the Small East, saw action at several positions as her team beat the Small West 8-5.
As a pitcher, Eave, who will be a member of the inaugural season of softball at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid next spring, pitched an inning with two strikeouts. She also played second base and the outfield during other innings.
At the plate, Eaves was 1-for-2 with a single.
