HEAVENER — Sometimes there are things which catch the human eyes that cannot be forgotten. That seems to be the case with Heavener High School's new football coach.
When Locust Grove Offensive Coordinator Carl Lee saw the Heavener Wolves a couple summers ago, he thought they could be a good football team. Now, he'll get the chance to witness that up close and personal.
Lee was hired as the new Wolves' football coach, replacing John Thompson who stepped down after last season's playoff campaign.
“I saw them previously at a camp I was at,” Lee said. “I thought they had good size and had good kids. I thought there would be an opportunity to do some good things here, and build off the success they had under Coach (John) Thompson last year.”
