Making readers understand about PDN's 'Football Frenzy'

September 15, 2012

It's come to my attention that some of our readers are unaware that we hold our Saturday morning publication for the Friday night high school football games. We call it “Football Frenzy.”
We do that during all 10 regular-season weeks of action, with the exception of the Week 8/fall break games which are on Thursday — we normally go ahead and put the stories of those games into the Saturday edition as well. We also normally do this during the opening week of the playoffs, possibly the next week. Once there are no more playoff games on Friday or all of LeFlore County's football teams' seasons have ended, then “Football Frenzy” will end.
Red Out
Speaking of district openers, when the Poteau Pirates entertain the Sallisaw Black Diamonds next Friday night at Costner Stadium, the Poteau Pirate Quarterback Club is wanting the Black Diamond fans to see red.
Next Friday's home game is going to be a Red Out, so fans are asked to wear their red in support of the Pirates as they seek a victory over their nemesis from Sequoyah County.
