Man critically injured in head on collision

July 16, 2013

A Pocola man was critically injured after a semi slammed head on onto his vehicle Tuesday morning.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Alvin Jamerson, 32, of Millerton was driving a 1995 Peterbilt tractor trailer hauling a load of cattle east on U.S. highway 270 west of Wister when he told police he fell asleep. Jamerson's semi crossed the center line striking a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Randy Don Woodard, 59, of Pocola.
Woodard, who was freed by Wister Fire, was taken by LeFlore County Emergency Medical Services to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark. He is listed in critical condition.
Jamerson and his passenger, Rachael Olvera, 41, of Spencerville, were not injured in the accident.
