Mary Belle Scott Cooper, 86, of Poteau died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 in Fort Smith, Ark. Mary Belle was born April 16, 1926, in Hitchita to James Albert and Haley (Gabbard) Scott. She and her husband owned and operated the Sears Roebuck store in Poteau. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Grady Scott and Dale Scott; sisters, Dovie Brown, Wilma Shipp and Helen Sychr.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Bob W. of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Jean and Jimmy McGee of Broken Arrow, Ronda Kaye Cooper of Dallas; grandson, Michael Graham McGee and wife, Agnes, of Broken Arrow; great-grandchildren, Cady and Rob Rowland of Inola, Mia Rose McGee and Michael McGee Jr. both of Broken Arrow; great-great-granddaughter, Lillian Skye Rowland of Inola; sister, Lahoma Cook of Carlsbad, N.M.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Front Street Church of Christ in Poteau with Glenn Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore. Pallbearers will be Michael McGee, Jerry Draper, Bruce McClain, Dennis Harrison, Dennis Lungstrum and Julian Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Bro. Ken Bentley, and Eddy Cooper.
