Maxine Geraldine “Jerry” Miller of  Monroe died Thursday, June 28, 2012, in Poteau. Jerry was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Roswell, N.M., to  Tom and Leona (Anderson) Fortner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul X. Miller; sister, Clara Murphee; brothers, V.I. Fortner and Ed Fortner
 Survivors include her daughter, Bettie Grissom of Houston; son, Paul X. Jr. and wife, Laura “Sandy” Miller, of Monroe; granddaughters, Tina Whiteford and husband, Tim, of Houston, Jerri Coker of Monroe, Larissa Miller of Pocola; great-granddaughters, Jordan Wilburn and Lari Coker of Monroe, Emily Whiteford, Nicole Whiteford of Houston; sister, Wanda Phillips of Howe; brother, T.C. Fortner and wife, Doris, of Monroe; sister-in-law and husband, Ruth and Hugh Gardenhire of Monroe; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Monroe Baptist Church with Rev. Garry Haskins officiating. Interment will be in Monroe Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Phillips, Cory Phillips, Rick Wilson, Larry Gardenhire, M.L. Reed and Danny Wann. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Monroe First Baptist Church.
The family will visit with relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
