The eighth annual Junior He-Man Punt, Pass and Kick Competition took place Saturday at “The Jody Ray Sports Complex.” There were 26 entries in the combined new three-division look to the competition.
In the first-ever age 13-16 division of competition the eight-year event has seen, Kaden McBeth won the event with 87 points, which set a new Junior He-Man PPK record, beating Larry “Butchy” Howard's score of 83 points in 2010. McBeth's score was the best in 21 years of either the Junior He-Man or He-Man PPKs. You're a stud, Kaden — congratulations.
Layne Dennis was runner-up to McBeth with 55 points, while Micaela Bickford was third (34 points).
Jake Patterson won the age 9-12 division with 67 points, with Lane Clark second (50 points) and my son, Jacques, third (41).
In the age 6-8 division, Jance Sommers took home the trophy with 63 points, followed by Drew Scott (45 points) and Cade Wilson (34).
Save the world, recycle.
God bless our troops and veterans.
Have a great weekend.
