Modessa Simpson

Modessa Simpson, 89, Shady Point died June 2, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born March 19, 1923, at Cameron to Manuel and Lucy (Buttress) Pool. Modessa was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delbert Simpson; twin daughters, Corina Stafford and Florina Leverett; three brothers, Garvin, Harvey and Loyell Pool; two sisters, Mamy Simpson and Lois Shaw; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Virgil Edward Goines Jr. and wife, Lynette, of Santa Paula, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lavon and Ron Mullins and Greta and Bill Krantz all of Shady Point; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, with Bro. Larry Harris officiating. Burial will be in Old Bokoshe Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Manor Funeral Home of Spiro. You may leave an online greeting to the family at www.gracemanorfh.com.
