TAHLEQUAH — It was a rough start to the week for the Poteau Lady Pirates softball team on Monday as they suffered a pair of road losses against the host Tahlequah Lady Tigers by scores of 10-2 and 7-1.
Cameron 21, Gans 4: In Cameron, the Lady Yellowjackets ended the regular season in grand fashion.
With the game tied at 4 after an inning, the Lady ’Jackets scored three runs in the second inning, five runs in the third and nine runs in the fifth inning to get the game to mercy-rule status.
Panama 7, Keota 6: In Panama, the Lady Razorbacks broke a 6-all tie in the seventh inning on Kendra Swindle’s RBI double.
Pocola 15, Hartshorne 6: In Pocola, the Lady Indians, who trailed 4-3 in the fourth inning, erupted for eight runs — four of which came on Taylor Farley’s grand-slam home run — to take an 11-4 lead after four innings.
Howe 13, Clayton 10: In Clayton, the Lady Lions rallied from a 10-5 deficit after five innings with a pair of four-run frames in the sixth and seventh innings.
Wister 8, Quinton 0; Wister 11, Buffalo Valley 2: In Buffalo Valley, the Lady Wildcats ended the regular season with a pair of road wins on Monday.
In the win over Quinton, the Lady ’Cats jumped to a 2-0 lead after an inning, which became a 6-0 lead after two, 7-0 after three and 8-0 after four.
In the victory over Buffalo Valley, the Lady Wildcats clawed their way to a 6-0 lead after their first at-bats in the opening inning and never looked back.
Editor’s note: Panama’s Class 4A District Tournament game times have changed on Thursday. Panama and Sallisaw Central will play at 3 p.m., with the loser meeting Tushka at 4:15 p.m. The Panama-Sallisaw Central winner will then play Tushka at 5:30 p.m. The title game is at 6:45 p.m., with the if-game at 8 p.m.
