Monday sporting events rained out; Poteau Boys Golf Invitational rescheduled for Tuesday at Choctaw, Wolf Ridge country clubs

Most of Monday's athletic events involving LeFlore County teams were rained out.
The 2014 Poteau Boys Golf Invitational, which was to have taken place at both Choctaw and Wolf Ridge country clubs, was rained out on Monday. It has been rescheduled for today, beginning at both sites at 8 a.m.
All but one high school baseball game was rained out. Games washed were Pocola at Poteau, Whitesboro at Howe, Muldrow at Cameron, Heavener at Sallisaw-Central, Leflore at Hackett, Ark., Panama at Roland, Spiro at Fort Smith (Ark.) Southside and Wister at Hartshorne. Only Arkoma's home game with Kinta was still on as of press time.
On the softball field, Sallisaw at Poteau, Pocola at Talihina, Battiest at Wister, Cameron at Quinton and Heavener and Wilburton at Crowder were rained out Monday. Only Panama's game at Gore was still on.
The Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings had their home softball doubleheader against Connors State College rained out Monday afternoon. The Lady Vikings, who will travel to face Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa in a twinbill beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday, will make up Monday's pair at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
