WISTER â A two-run sixth inning rallied the Wister Wildcats for a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Hartshorne Miners Monday afternoon.
Down 3-2 after the Miners scored two in their half of the sixth inning, the âCats got those two runs back on an RBI single by Tyler Gibson and a sacrifice fly by Colby Turnipseed to take a 4-3 lead into the final inning.
Turnipseed came in to pitch the seventh inning and struck out the final two batters with runners at second and third base to seal the deal to pick up the save.
Cody Luman got the win, pitching six innings with 10 Ks.
Howe 5, McCurtain 4: In Howe, the Lions rallied from a 2-1 deficit with a four-run third inning. An RBI double by Dakota McCoy, a two-RBI double by Chase Blake and an RBI bunt single by Chesly Hall put Howe, winners of three straight, ahead by a score of 5-4.
Whitesboro 14, Panola 2: In Whitesboro, the Bulldogs broke a scoreless tie with a nine-run second inning.
Pocola 4, Gans 3: In Gans, the Indians got out to a 4-1 lead in the opening inning, but the Grizzlies threatened in the seventh inning.
Gans scored twice, and had a runner at third with one out â down 4-3. The batter hit a fly ball, and the Indians made the perfect relay throw to get the baserunner trying to score from third for the game-ending double play.
Union Christian, Ark., 12, Arkoma 1: In Arkoma, the Mustangs fell behind 7-0 after an inning and could never catch up.
Arkoma's lone run scored in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Nathan Gragg, scoring Jerry Anderson.
Red Oak 17, Talihina 0: In Talihina, the Eagles jumped out to a 5-0 lead after an inning and never looked back.
Battiest 9, Leflore 4: In Battiest, the Savages jumped out to a 2-0 lead on RBI singles by Kevin Hampton and Caleb Smith, but the Panthers rallied with a four-run fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead.
After Seth Singleterry's RBI single in the fifth inning for Leflore to make it 4-3, Battiest erupted for five runs in the fifth to take a 9-3 lead.
Muldrow 10, Panama 4: In Muldrow, the Bulldogs rallied from a 4-0 deficit to get the win, thanks to a six-run fourth inning.
