HEAVENER â€” The Heavener Wolves got their baseball season off on the right foot with a 14-1 run-rule victory over the Howe Lions Monday afternoon.
The Wolves led 2-0 after one inning, then scored nine runs in the second inning for an 11-0 lead.
The only run for the Lions came in the fourth inning.
Cameron 10, Sallisaw-Central 1: In Cameron, the Yellowjackets bounced back from their rough loss Friday afternoon in Wilburton, and took out their frustrations out on the Tigers.
The â€™Jackets scored six runs in the opening inning for a 6-0 lead to take control of the game.
Leflore 7, Quinton 0: In Leflore, the Savages started the season the right way, thanks to starter Dakota Watson, who had 16 strikeouts in a two-hit, complete-game victory.
While the Savages had only four hits, they took advantage of 10 walks by Quinton pitching.
Pocola 4, Union Christian, Ark., 2: In Pocola, the Indians got a great 1-2 pitching from starter Parker Johnson and reliever Grant Severe to get the season started the right way. Johnson pitched five innings with six strikeouts, while Severe got his first save by pitching the final two innings with four Ks.
The Indians scored two runs in each of the first two innings for a 4-0 lead after two innings.
Spiro 9, Muldrow 0: In Spiro, LeFlore County's Bulldogs (1-0) got the season off on the right foot. The â€™Dogs scored four runs in the first and third innings for an 8-0 lead after three innings.
Vian 11, Panama 1: In Vian, the Razorbacks tied the game at 1-1 on a bases-loaded walk in the second inning to Isaac Burris.
But then, the Hogs' defense let it down in the fourth inning as seven errors helped the Wolverines score seven runs that frame for an 8-1 lead after four innings.
