The Poteau Pirates split their home three-way Monday at Town Creek Park, blasting the Idabel Warriors 12-2 but falling 8-7 to the Sallisaw Black Diamonds.
In the win over the Warriors, the Pirates jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the opening inning as Poteau sent 16 batters to the plate.
In the loss to the Black Diamonds, Sallisaw's Derek Nation hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to break a 7-7 tie to lift the visitors from Sequoyah County to victory.
The Pirates tied the game in the fifth inning at 7-7 on an RBI single by Didway and an RBI double by Stephen Smith.
Talihina 13, Howe 1; Talihina 7, Haileyville 2; Haileyville 8, Howe 6: In Talihina, the Golden Tigers got a pair of wins on their home field on Monday's three-way.
In the win over Howe, Hunter Johnson scored the lone run for the Lions on a Talihina error in the first inning for a 1-0 lead.
The Golden Tigers came back with a four-run first inning, highlighted by Andrew Young's fourth home run of the season, a three-run shot, to take a 4-1 lead after an inning.
In the victory over Haileyville, the Golden Tigers used a six-run sixth inning to rally from a 2-1 deficit for the win.
In Howe's loss to Haileyville, the Warriors scored all eight runs in the first inning on two hits, six walks a hit batter and a Howe error.
The Lions mounted a comeback, but in the fifth inning the rally ended with the tying runner striking out.
Whitesboro 7, Clayton 4: In Whitesboro, in a battle of Bulldogs, Whitesboro jumped out to a 5-0 lead by the fifth inning, but had to hold on for dear life as Clayton tried to mount a seventh-inning, game-tying threat. However, Nick Wallen got his first save of the season to preserve the win for Quintin Ludlow.
Wilburton 5, Heavener 1: In Wilburton, the Diggers broke a scoreless tie with a five-run fourth inning.
The lone run for the Wolves scored in the seventh inning when Colby McGee singled home Noah Davis.
Stigler 8, Spiro 6: In Stigler, the Panthers scored three runs in the sixth inning to snatch the win away from the Bulldogs.
Spiro took a 3-0 lead in the opening inning and had a 6-5 lead after the top of the fifth inning.
