Monday's High School Softball Roundup

September 19, 2012

TALIHINA — The regular season ended on a high note for the Talihina Lady Golden Tigers as they edged the Hartshorne Lady Miners 2-1 Monday afternoon.
The Lady Golden Tigers broke a scoreless tie in the second inning on an RBI triple by Kelsey Transue, who later scored on a wild pitch, as Talihina led 2-0.
The Lady Miners scored once in the fourth inning, but they got no closer.
Whitesboro 18, Clayton 0: In Clayton, the Lady Bulldogs ended the regular season on a very high note. Whitesboro jumped out to an 8-0 lead after an inning and never looked back.
Freshman pitcher Lexey Branscum threw her first-ever varsity perfect game, striking out five of the nine batters she faced in the three-inning, run-rule contest.
McCurtain 4, Cameron 3: In McCurtain, miscues by the Lady Yellowjackets doomed them as they committed six errors.
Editor's Note — Nothing was reported on Pocola's home game with Keota by press time. Also, Howe's Tuesday home game against Bokoshe was canceled due to lack of players because of illness for the Lady Tigers.
