Monroe boys state runners-up after losing title game; Hodgen girls lose in state semifinals

SHAWNEE — The Monroe Eagles basketball team became LeFlore County's second state runners-up this school year.
The Eagles lost 36-21 to Stilwell's Rocky Mountain School in the state title game of the Organization of Rural Elementary Schools [ORES] Division III State Tournament on Saturday afternoon in Shawnee.
The Eagles, who won the 2014 LeFlore County Junior High Tournament last month, reached the finals with a 56-48 victory over El Reno Darlington on Friday night.
Two Eagles made the All-Tournament Team, Reid Frasher and Kolton Foster.
The other local team at ORES state, the Hodgen Lady Bulldogs, lost in the Division II State Tournament semifinals 45-22 to Stillwell's Zion School on Friday.
Hodgen's Shae Singleterry made the All-Tournament Team.
