More turkeys and baseball ahead for me this week

May 3, 2012

Turkey season is in full swing, and I have got to go hunting two halfdays with no luck whatsoever. Dan Carter, Koby and I have heard a couple of birds, but have not succeeding in calling them in. Dallas Ward joined us on a hunt last weekend, and I hope the next hunt he goes on with me will result in at least getting set up on a gobbler.
Dan and I are going back after those turkeys this weekend, along with my cousin Jason Sampson and Butch Parks — an old high school buddy of mine. Hopefully, we will get a chance to give one of those cagey ol' toms a ride home in the truck.

Wister Baseball Coach John McAlester and the Wildcats are the host team for the Class 2A Regional Tournament, which starts today. It will be a double-elimination tournament with the winner going to the Class 2A State Tournament next week in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Teams in the tourney are Wister, Pocola, Haworth and Hartshorne. Good luck, boys!
Have a great week!
