Most county football teams had successful starts to 2011

September 9, 2011

For LeFlore County high school football, most of the eight teams posted wins on opening week.
Week 1 began with Spiro beating Panama last Thursday night, then Poteau, Pocola, Talihina and Arkoma also won their openers Friday night.
Heavener, Panama and Bokoshe will seek their first wins this Friday night.
But the season just got tougher for Arkoma and Bokoshe, who are both in District C-4. Being 8-man teams, their districts are larger than the normal eight-team district — such as Poteau's District 4A-4 and Spiro's District 3A-8.
Thus, Arkoma and Bokoshe will get the “real” season going as they both will open district play, as Prue visits Arkoma and Bokoshe hits the road to face Midway.
