Most important football game of season Friday night for Spiro; Bulldogs entertain Checotah Wildcats for Senior Night, shot at third place in District 3A-8

October 31, 2012

The good news is the Spiro Bulldogs are in the Class 3A playoffs, no matter what they do in Friday's home finale against the Checotah Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. at McClain Stadium. However, they want to end the regular season on a high note, and not just to win their home finale or make Senior Night memorable for the Class of 2013.
“You don't want to go into the playoffs with a loss,” said Chris Bunch, Spiro's coach. “It's a very important game for us to win. Checotah is a good team, and I think it's going to be a tough game.”
The Bulldogs (5-4 overall, 4-2 in District 3A-8) saw their four-game winning streak end Friday night in a 36-24 loss to the Roland Rangers.
“It got to be a 28-24 game at one time,” Bunch said. “We didn't play very well defensively. We gave up way too many easy touchdowns. We just didn't line up right half the time on defense. I felt like for the first time this year we didn't play like we're capable of playing.”
