While weeks went by without rain, the rains indeed came Thursday afternoon. It came so much that the slate of games for Thursday were rained out.
Softball games rained out were Wister at Poteau, Leflore at Quinton, Whitesboro at Buffalo Valley and the Keota Invitational — where Arkoma, Howe, Pocola, Spiro and Talihina were playing.
Two baseball games were washed out completely — Cameron at Panola and Howe at Smithville.
Whitesboro's baseball game against Clayton in the Buffalo Valley festival was suspended by rain, with Clayton leading 2-1.
The game will be resumed at 9 a.m. this morning.
The Leflore-Quinton softball game will be rescheduled at a later date, but the other non-Keota Invitational games have not been rescheduled nor has Cameron's baseball game or Howe's.
Thursday's games in the Keota Invitational will be played today along with the originally-scheduled games for today.
Arkoma and host Keota will do battle at approximately 9 a.m., followed by Talihina and Stigler and Spiro playing the winner of the Arkoma-Keota game.
In the loser's bracket, Pocola will play the Arkoma-Keota loser at approximately 1:20 p.m., followed by Howe and McCurtain at 2:40 p.m. The Talihina-Stigler loser will play the winner of Pocola's game at 5 p.m., followed by the Howe-McCurtain winner facing the loser of Spiro's game at 6:20 p.m.
For Saturday, the winner's-bracket final between the Talihina-Stigler winner and the Spiro game winner will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by the loser's-bracket semifinal at 11:20 a.m. and the loser's-bracket final at 12:40 a.m.
The title game is set for 2 p.m., with the if-game at 3:20 p.m.
