Mud run proves big success

According to organizers of the Brave the Mud run held Saturday, about $10,000 was raised to benefit the Women's Crises Services of LeFlore County. Organizers said 422 people entered the race that led them through mud pits, hay bale climbs, rock walls and balance obstacles. Saturday's winners: Male category - first place Chris Pollard, Haworth, Okla; second place Marcus Tubbs, Wilburton; third place B.J. Johnson, Hartshorne. Female category - first place Bailey Bray, Broken Arrow; second place Barbara Johnson, Heavener; third place Vania Williams, Talihina. Top teams - first place Team Collins; second place Scrambled Legs; third place Run Like the Wind. Best team name winner was Chafing the Dream. The next annual Brave the Mud run already has been scheduled for Aug. 26, 2014.
