Muldrow Bulldogs bite Poteau Pirates

MULDROW — What started out on the fields of Catoosa, Tahlequah, Poteau and Idabel gave the Poteau Pirate fans the sense that their new-found no huddle offense was going to bring the Pirates back to prominence in Class 4A.
But somewhere along the way, they ran up against teams that could also score points in bunches. Poteau's 2011 campaign ended on a field in Muldrow with their hopes and dreams being an afterthought.
Muldrow, coached by former Poteau Assistant Coach Rob Johnson, scored 19 points in the second half to send the Pirates home thinking what if. The final score was Muldrow winning 22-14 in a District 4A-4 contest.
