Multiple agencies respond to grassfire

A grassfire threatened to burn a heavily wooded area along with a residence Thursday afternoon.

The report of a grassfire Thursday afternoon on Quays Road near Shady Point resulted in multiple agencies responding.
The fire was atop a hill in a heavily wooded and leaf covered area approximately 100 yards from a residence. Shady Point and Panama Fire Departments were able to extinguish the fire before it endangered the residence.
