Muse murder suspect free on bond

December 7, 2011

Christopher Duane Wright, 46, of Muse is free on bond after the fatal shooting of his brother.

Christopher Duane Wright, 46, of Muse was arrested Monday night following the fatal shooting of his brother Stacey Joseph Wright, 45.
According to LeFlore County Sheriff Bruce Curnutt, Christopher Wright allegedly shot his brother after an altercation occurred at the suspects residence. Reportedly Stacey Wright was upset that his brother was receiving help from their father and the argument escalated until Christopher Wright allegedly opened fire upon his brother with a rifle.
Christopher Wright, who is alleging self defense, will await a decision from the LeFlore County District Attorney's Office as to whether he was within his rights to protect himself or if they will file murder charges against him.
Until the decision is made, Christopher Wright is free on a $7,500 bond for the firearms charge and for an application to revoke a suspended sentence in a 2011 driving under the influence conviction.
