No. 1 Poteau soccer boys rout Westville, but Lady Pirates lose

April 8, 2013

WESTVILLE — Class 4A’s top-ranked Poteau Pirates soccer team had little problem with the Westville Yellowjackets on Friday night, posting a 10-0 mercy-rule victory.
However, the Lady Pirates were not as fortunate, losing 5-0 to the Lady ’Jackets.
The Pirates will return to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a road game against the McAlester Buffaloes in at the Savanna soccer fields, just south of McAlester — Savanna is the first town south of McAlester on U.S. Highway 69. The Lady Pirates will play at 5 p.m., but the game will be counted as a junior varsity game since they already have their 10 games this regular season.
