Non-Poteau softball teams, fall baseball teams receive district fates from OSSAA

Some LeFlore County fast-pitch softball and baseball teams got good news on Friday from the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association as they were named district tournament hosts for postseason play which will begin later this month.
In softball, Heavener was given a Class 3A District Tournament as it will entertain Spiro in the best-of-3 series.
Three local Class 2A softball teams — Panama, Pocola and Wister — all were awarded district tournaments.
The Lady Razorbacks, trying to make state for the third straight fall, will entertain the Talihina Lady Golden Tigers.
The Lady Indians will welcome the Sallisaw-Central Lady Tigers to town, while the Lady Wildcats will do likewise to the Hartshorne Lady Miners.
It will be a trio of county teams at the Class A District Tournament in Cameron as the Lady Yellowjackets will welcome the Arkoma Lady Mustangs and the Howe Lady Lions to town.
Bokoshe, along with Wilson (Henryetta), will go to McCurtain for one Class B District Tournament, while Whitesboro and Leflore will be at another Class B District Tournament in Buffalo Valley.
In Class A baseball, there will also be a trio of county teams as the Wister Wildcats will entertain the Cameron Yellowjackets and the Howe Lions in the district tournament.
The Leflore Savages will be a Class B District Tournament hosts as they will welcome Whitesboro, Buffalo Valley and Panola to town.
The Poteau Lady Pirates softball team will find out next week where and with whom it will be paired with in a Class 4A District Tournament.
