October declared 4-H month

October 2, 2012

LeFlore County Commissioners judge posters submitted by local 4-H students after they signed a proclamation naming October 4-H Month.

The LeFlore County Commissioners signed a proclamation Monday morning recognizing October as 4-H Month.
A poster contest was held in honor of the month and several local students who participate in 4-H submitted posters for judging by the county commissioners. After looking at 68 posters in four separate categories, the commissioners named the winners. From the beginners group, age 9-11, first-place winner was Roni Jo Martin of Wister. First-place winner for the intermediate group, for students age 12-14, was Kaylee Elder, also of Wister. Randa Bodiford of Cameron was named the winner in the advanced group, for 15-and-up. All first-, second- and third-place winners' posters will be on display at the LeFlore County Courthouse throughout the week.
