The seven OK Kids Midget Regional Tournaments have been set for this weekend.
One lucky team from each regional will join Poteau's team at the 2011 State Tournament, which will begin Tuesday and end July 16 at the Poteau Area Recreational Area (PARC).
One regional tournament, Region No. 7, is right here in LeFlore County, specifically in Panama. Along with the tournament-host team, the Panama Red, will be the Spiro Cardinals, Red Oak, the Vian Yard Dawgz, the Preston Gorillaz, Tushka, the Stigler Renegades and the Morris Wild Thang.
Another regional with local flavor is Region No. 6 in Durant, which features the Wister Wildcats. They will be joined by the regional hosts, the Durant Rangers, the Kiowa Cowboys, the Stigler Pistols, the Webbers Falls Outlaws, the Quinton Savages, the Sallisaw Diamonds and the Madill Mudcats.
Region No. 1 is at Elk City with two Elk City teams, the Gray Sox and the Brown Sox, along with Leedey, the Granite Panthers, the Fort Cobb-Broxton Mustangs, Cordell and the Sterling Tigers.
Elgin is the site for Region No. 2 with the host team being the Elgin Shockers. Joining them are the Stratford Bulldogs, the Weatherford Red, the Lone Grove Marshals, the Lexington Bulldogs, the Ninnekah Owls, the Hobart Blue and the Colbert Leopards.
Region No. 3 is in Blanchard. Along with the host Blanchard Lions will be the Shawnee Muckdogs, the Pauls Valley Cubs, the Noble Dodgers, the Anadarko Purple, the Lindsay Outlaws, the Newcastle Racers and the Dale Cougars.
Perkins is the site for Region No. 4, featuring the regional-host Perkins Mustangs. The rest of the regional-tournament field has the Agra Bearcats, the Kingfisher ’Jackets No. 1, the Cleveland Cardinals, the Cashion Wildcats, the Okarche Warriors No. 1, the Cushing Tigers and the Drumright Tornadoes.
Region No. 5 is in Chandler, with the host team being the Chandler Lions — or, more precisely, two Chandler Lions teams. Joining them are the Tuttle Tigers, the Holdenville Outlaws, the Morris Cubs, the Okemah Panthers, the Durant Cardinals and the Coalgate Wildcats.
