ARVADA, Colo. — The Oklahoma Elite softball team, featuring several LeFlore County and area softball players, won its first four games in the Triple Crown Colorado Sparkler, which is taking place at the Lutz Complex.
On Monday, the Elite downed the Kansas City Impact 9-1 and defeated the Diamond Dusters 6-4, then routed Power Surge 11-1 and rallied to down the Utah Riptide 5-4.
The Elite will play at 9 a.m. C.S.T. this morning against an opponent to be determined.
Two Elite members, Poteau's Shelby Standridge and Red Oak's Kendra Coleman, played in the All-American All-Star Game Thursday night after being named to the team after Monday's all-star game. By being named to the All-American All-Star Game roster, both players automatically qualified to be on the national team which will compete in July 2013 at New York City's Central Park — which is the same event Panama High School soon-to-be senior pitcher Taylor Eaves competed in last summer.
