Oklahoma Star Competition

It’s time once again for the third annual Phil
Gardenhire PRCA Rodeo Oklahoma Star competition.
The Oklahoma Star Committee in conjunction with
the Phil Gardenhire PRCA Rodeo Committee is searching
for talented singers in the LeFlore County area to
compete for cash, prizes, and the title of Oklahoma
Star.
Contestants must be 16 years old or older to enter the
competition and must certify to not have a contract for a talent manager, music recording contract, acting/modeling contract, or merchandising agreement. All contestants will perform in a pre-elimination round of competition at Warehouse Willy’s in Poteau on August 9, 10, and 11 at 7 p.m. The top 10 contestants will advance to the competition at the 12th annual Phil Gardenhire PRCA Rodeo on August 12 and 13. Five contestants will perform each night before the rodeo starts. All elimination rounds except the final will be before the rodeo starts at 7 p.m. One winner from each group of finalists will be chosen and the final two contestants will compete head to head before the bull riding event on Saturday night, August 13.
The first place will receive a cash prize and one hour recording time at Omega Sound recording.
The second place winner will receive a cash prize. Both finalists will have a chance to compete at the Arkansas/Oklahoma State Fair in September.
