Omer Edmond Yandell

Omer Edmond Yandell, 84, of Wister died Saturday,
July 16, 2011, in Wister. Omer was born Aug. 9, 1926, to
George Franklin and Lucy (Jones) Yandell. Omer was a
veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in WWII. He
worked for public works, at a sawmill and as a farmer. He
was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hazel; son,
Billy; and grandsons, James Ray and Joshua Duane.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen
and David Adams of Duncan, Merdith Atwell of Lawton,
Mary and Steve Arbuckle of Duncan, Billie Yandell of
Stigler; sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie and Judy
Yandell of Wister, Donald and Pamela Yandell of Poteau,
George and Carol Yandell of Cameron; 15 grandchildren;
26 great grandchildren; brother, William Yandell of Oden,
Ark.; other relatives, loved ones and many beloved
friends.
Services were held Monday, July 18, at Summerfield
Baptist Church, Summerfield, with The Rev. Jim Cook
officiating. Burial was in Summerfield Cemetery.
