Opal Jean Davis

Opal Jean Davis, 100, of Poteau died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, in D’Iberville, Miss.
Opal was born Aug. 8, 1912, in Gilmore to Charles Monroe and Jenny May (Smedley) Harrison. She was a farmer. Opal was preceded in death by her husbands, David W. Dunivent and O.C. Davis; her parents; brothers, John, Edmond, Dency, Cecil and Eugene Harrison; sisters, Mary Lettman, Jewel Allen and Lorene Mabry; daughter, Shirley L. Ethridge; and grandchild, David Dunivent. 
Survivors include her son, Charles H. Dunivent and wife, Sylvia, of Biloxi, Miss; daughter, Ramona M. Leary and husband Ernie of Bluffton, S.C.; son-in-law, Kenneth Ethridge of Poteau; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, in Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial will be in Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore.Arrangements are under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
