Opal May Allison, 84, of Poteau died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in Poteau. Opal was born March 8, 1928, in Leflore to Bert and Eller (Hindricks) Robison. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Opal was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James Thomas Ferguson and Joe Allison; brothers, James Everett, Johnny and Bill Robison; sister, Mary Stephens; daughter, Flossie Mae Ridner; and great-grandson, Greyson Hunt.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Freda and Shad Pyland and Wilma Jo and Paul Barton of Poteau; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Lynda Ferguson of Poteau; grandchildren, Doug Ridner, Randy Ridner, Kim Allen, Kelly Hunt, Chuck Ivey, Sarah Coffelt, Chad Barton, Rhonda Walters, Cathy Jo Ferguson, Thomas Ferguson, Aaron Ferguson; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ora Burns of Wister; other relatives and loved ones; and many beloved friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with the Rev. Brian McGlaughlin officiating. Burial will be in Leflore Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chad Barton, Doug Ridner, Tim Coffelt, Michael Hunt, Shad Pyland and Clayton Hunt.Â
The family will be at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Friday to visit with relatives and friends.
