The Hodgen Lady Bulldogs and the Monroe Eagles are a win away from making state.
The Lady Bulldogs will have that chance tonight in the Organization of Rural Elementary Schools [ORES] playoffs when they take on Moffett at 7 p.m. at Liberty School with the winner advancing to the Division II State Tournament.
The Eagles, the 2014 LeFlore County Junior High Tournament champions, will play Grant at 8 p.m. Friday in the Division III playoffs for a berth in the state tournament.
The Lady Eagles also will play Grant at 7 p.m. Friday at McAlester's Frink-Chambers Middle School for a berth into the Division III State Tournament.
In Division II, the Hodgen Bulldogs will meet Krebs at 6 tonight at Liberty School in the consolation semifinal, with the winner meeting the Liberty-Moffett loser at 2 p.m. Saturday at the same site for the consolation championship and a berth to state.
In Division IV, the Fanshawe Lady Grizzlies will be in the consolation semifinals against Bearden at 5 p.m. today at Frink-Chambers Middle School.
The Fanshawe-Bearden winner will meet the Dahlonegah-Stidham loser in the consolation finals at noon Saturday at Frink-Chambers Middle School for the right to go to the Division IV State Tournament as consolation champions.
Two other county teams were one and done in the 2014 ORES playoffs. The Shady Point Warriors lost 59-35 to Belfonte on Monday night in Muldrow in the Division III playoffs, while the Fanshawe Grizzlies fell 50-39 to Whitefield on Saturday afternoon in Fanshawe in the Division IV playoffs.
