OSU Cowboys looked better against K-State than week before against West Virginia

STILLWATER — There's no question that the Oklahoma State Cowboys football team laid an egg on Sept. 28 when they opened Big 12 play against West Virginia.
However, things looked better for the Pokes on Saturday afternoon for their Big 12 home opener at Boone Pickens Stadium against Kansas State as they outlasted the Wildcats 33-29. Mind you, I didn't say a lot better, but better nontheless.
For starters, the Cowboys won the turnover battle, forcing the Wildcats into three interceptions and three fumbles — two of which were recovered by the Pokes. On the other hand, OSU only lost one fumble, which came in the third quarter. However, two plays later, the Pokes forced a fumble that was recovered by Emmanuel Ogbah — so no harm, no foul.
“The difference in this game compared to last week was turnovers and we were much better in the kicking game,” OSU coach Mike Gundy said.
