OU might have been looking ahead to Texas and almost forgot about TCU Horned Frogs

October 8, 2013

NORMAN — We should have all expected a game like this — coming right after a great win on the road at Notre Dame and right before the Red River Rivalry next Saturday at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The Oklahoma Sooners didn’t play very well, but a win is a win at this point in the season. The Sooners are still undefeated after a lackluster 20-17 victory over
Texas Christian on Saturday night at Owen Field.
The highlight of the day was Brennan Clay’s 76-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter that pushed the OU lead to 20-10, but the Sooners still had to hold on as TCU scored late to pull within three.
OU’s defense played well, limiting TCU no zero first downs in the first half, but the Sooners only led 13-0. The Horned Frogs finally got their offense going in the second half and kept the game close.
